Dyed Fleece
Natural Dyed Shetland Wool Locks
I started with the softest parts of a white, washed shetland fleece and dyed it with natural dyes to get some wonderfully complex colors. The brown is from lichens and mushrooms, red from cochineal (little bugs from S. America that live on the prickly pear cactus), orange from avacado skins and blue from indigo. Enough to make a colorful cap or socks.
